Honeywell Experion Local Control Network Benefits

Benefits to Industrial Sites

Industrial operations concerned with transforming their legacy control system can realize numerous

operational and business benefits from TPS modernization.

This transformation can improve business results, enable expansions, and improve sustainability,

while protecting existing infrastructure, production and intellectual property in terms of both applications and graphics.

Honeywell’s secure path to current technology offers seamless integration with architecture,

with standards-based functionality, regulatory support capabilities, and integrated operation from the field, through the plant, to the business level.

Honeywell’s TPS modernization solution minimizes operating disruptions and maintains overall consistency,

as well as delivering optional lifecycle advantages with virtualization.

Honeywell is committed to helping you sustain your automation platform, and at the same time,

take advantage of the most up-to-date technologies.

After modernization, the control system can have a common Human Machine Interface (HMI) and unified physical control network,

allowing control devices to integrate/expand easily with the latest generation of Experion PKS controllers and safety systems.

The advanced control solutions and the new functions within Experion PKS controllers can additionally improve the effectiveness of plant operations.

Modernization also opens the door to Honeywell’s IIoT, an approach that connects people to assets,

Improper use

The following are considered to be instances of especially

improper use of the device:

• For use as a climbing aid, for example for mounting purposes.

• For use as a bracket for external loads, for example as a support for piping, etc.

• Material application, for example by painting over the

housing, name plate or welding/soldering on parts.

• Material removal, for example by spot drilling the housing.

Warranty provisions

Using the device in a manner that does not fall within the scope

of its intended use, disregarding this manual, using

underqualified personnel, or making unauthorized alterations

releases the manufacturer from liability for any resulting

ABB The LS25 has ATEX, IECEx and CSA certificates

Introduction

As an integrated part of the Advance Optima series the LS25

can be combined with further analyzer modules and completely operated remotely in Ethernet networks.

The LS25 has ATEX, IECEx and CSA certificates for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The power supply unit converts 100-240 volts AC to 24 volts DC (24 volts DC can be supplied directly to

the transmitter unit if available).

The power supply box is connected to the transmitter box by a cable. 4-20 mA input signal from external

gas temperature/pressure sensor

can be connected to the screw terminals in the power supply box or directly to the cable connector on

the transmitter unit.

The receiver electronics are connected to the transmitter electronics via a cable.

The absorbed signals detected from the photodetector are amplified and transmitted via this cable to the

transmitter unit.

The same cable transmits the required power supply from the transmitter unit to the receiver unit.

The transmitter Al box contains the main electronic components.

The central processor board performs all instrument control and gas concentration calculations.

The main board contains all the electronics required for the operation of the instrument,

such as the diode laser current and temperature control as well as the analogue to digital signal

conversion.

The display (LCD) continuously shows the gas concentration, laser beam transmission and instrument

status.

an RS-232 port is available for direct serial communication with a PC.

An optional Ethernet board provides TCP/IP communication over a local area network (LAN) as an

alternative to serial communication.

All cable connectors are Phoenix VARIOSUB type and are waterproof.

ABBAO2000-LS25 Laser Analyser Instrument Description

Instrument Description

The analyser consists of 3 separate units:

 Transmitter unit with decontamination

 Receiver unit with decontamination

 Power supply unit

The transmitter unit consists of the laser module, the temperature stabilised diode laser,

the collimating optics and the main electronics in a coated aluminium case.

The receiver unit contains a focusing lens, photodetector and receiver electronics in a coated aluminium

case.

Both the transmitter and receiver have an environmental protection rating of IP66.

The standard optical window is pressure resistant up to 5 bar (absolute pressure).

The monitor is mounted by assembling the transmitter and receiver with the supplied

purge and calibration unit and mounting to a DN50 process flange (see Figure 3-1).

Optical alignment is both simple and reliable, and the purge device prevents dust

and other contaminants from being deposited on the optical window.

ABB Measurement and Analyser AO2000-LS25

The detector signal is spectrally decomposed into harmonic frequency components of the laser

modulation frequency.

The second harmonic of the signal is used to measure the concentration of the absorbed gas.

Both line amplitude and line width are Both line amplitude and line width are extracted from the second

harmonic line shape.

Therefore the measured concentration is not sensitive to changes in the line shape (line amplitude and

line width).

The measured concentration is not sensitive to line shape changes (line width and line width) caused by

background gases.

Note: The analyser measures only the concentration of free molecules in a given gas and is therefore not

sensitive to molecules bound to other molecules in complexes and molecules attached to or dissolved in

particles and droplets.

Care should be taken when comparing results with those obtained by other measurement techniques.

SST Woodhead 5136-PFB-ISA Profibus Interface Card

Card Overview

The 5136-PFB-ISA card can:

• act as a DP slave

• act as a DP master

• send and receive FDL (layer 2) messages

• send and receive FMS messages

The card supports simultaneous operation in all these modes.

The card supports the standard ProfiBus baud rates of 9.6K, 19.2K, 93.75K,

187.5K, 500K, 750K, 1.5M, 3M, 6M and 12M baud.The card has an onboard Intel i960 processor with 512

Kbytes of local RAM.

The card has an additional 256 Kbytes of RAM that is shared with the host in

16 Kbyte pages. The host determines which 16 Kbyte page of this shared

RAM is mapped into the host memory by writing to a register on the card.

This block of memory contains all the tables and buffers that are used to pass

information between the interface card and the application software running

in the host computer. This approach makes for a fast and simple connection

between host application and card software. The host computer uses the

loader program included on the distribution disk to load a software module

into card memory.

In addition, the card has 512 Kbytes of sectored flash memory, for storage of

programs and configuration data. The host computer uses the utility included

on the distribution disk to store a software module into flash memory.

ProfiBus configuration information may also be stored in flash.
