Emerson S-series Provides seamless information interface

Benefits

Provides seamless information interface. Using

the Serial Interface with the DeltaV system, you gain an

extended view of your entire plant. All serial information

from 3rd party systems, analyzers, PLC’s, is readily available

for display at the Operator Interface.

When connected to a PLC, DeltaV software may pass

supervisory information to the PLC facilitating the

coordination of control strategies across systems.

Plug-and-play easy to use. Plug-and-play installation

saves money. The Serial Interface works just like other

DeltaV I/O interfaces. It fits into any available slot on the

controller I/O carrier. There are no dipswitches. Just plug it in!

The DeltaV controller auto-senses the Serial Interface and

presents the configuration options. Online help makes this

interface a snap to configure. After a simple point-and-click

configuration exercise, your integrated solution is up and running.

Emerson S-series Serial Interface Introduction

The DeltaV™ S-series Serial Interface provides a connection

between the DeltaV system and other devices.

• Provides seamless information interface

• Plug-and-play ease of use

• Extends the life of existing equipment

• 1:1 redundancy for Serial Interface I/O cards

• Automatic switchover

Introduction

The S-series Serial Interface provides a connection

between the DeltaV™ system and devices that support a

serial protocol, such as Modbus or Allen Bradley’s Data

Highway Plus.

The S-series Serial Interface is supplied with Modbus

software drivers pre-loaded. Additional drivers are available

to allow a wide variety of devices to be integrated directly

into the DeltaV controller’s I/O subsystem. Data can be used

by control modules or communicated to workstations as

SCADA tags for display and/or historizing. Like all DeltaV I/O,

the Serial Interface may be added online while the rest of

the controller I/O is powered up and in use.

DeltaV Serial Interface can also be installed as a redundant

pair for critical applications needing the highest availability.

TU811V1 ABB Ability™ System 800xA® hardware selector

The TU811V1 is a 8 channel 250 V compact module termination unit (MTU) for the S800 I/O.

The MTU is a passive unit used for connection of the field wiring to the I/O modules.

It also contains a part of the ModuleBus.

The MTU distributes the ModuleBus to the I/O module and to the next MTU.

It also generates the correct address to the I/O module by shifting the outgoing position signals to the next MTU.

Two mechanical keys are used to configure the MTU for different types of I/O modules.

This is only a mechanical configuration and it does not affect the functionality of the MTU or the I/O module.

Each key has six positions, which gives a total number of 36 different configurations.

Features and benefits

• Compact installation of I/O modules.

• Up to 8 isolated channels of field signals.

• Connections to ModuleBus and I/O modules.

• Mechanical keying prevents insertion of the wrong I/O module.

• Latching device to DIN rail for grounding.

• DIN rail mounting.

TU805K01 ABB Ability™ System 800xA® hardware selector

The TU805K01 is a kit consisting of 10 pcs TU805. TU805 is a 16-

channel 50 V terminal unit for the S800 I/O modules DI801 and

DO801. The Terminal Unit is a passive unit for the distribution of

external process power.

Features and benefits

• Enables 2- and 3-wire connections of process signals.

• Direct mounting on the I/O module.

• Requires no extra space.

ABB Excitation Care offers different levels of service

Product and part life cycle report (annual)

The Product Life Cycle annual report is a summary of the

excitation system parts availability and life cycle status. It will

also detail which new material can replace the obsolete ones and

if a mechanical adaptation is needed.

Control upgrade solution (preferential price)

ABB has designed a front-end control upgrade solution using the

latest excitation technology, the UNITROL 6000. for excitation

systems in the Limited or Obsolete phase. It is an efficient

solution that extends the life of the system and brings it to the

Active phase of the Product Life Cycle.

Performance review (preferential price)

The ABB performance review program is designed to ensure

the proper and safe operation of all your UNITROL excitation

products. We accomplish this by running tests on all critical

protection devices and system settings in various operating

conditions. We then prepare a report based on the findings, and

make recommendations on how to keep unplanned downtime at

a minimum.

ABB Spare parts health and functional check (on-site)

Spare parts health and functional check (on-site)

The spare parts critical to commercial operation (noble parts;

ex.: boards, power supply), will be installed directly on the

existing excitation system and the functionality of all parts will

be confirmed. This will require the excitation system and the

machine to be available for testing.

Spare parts health and functional check (at the factory)

Upon request, the health and functional check may be performed in

our factory. The spare parts must be carefully packed and shipped

to ABB. Once they arrive, they will be inspected and tested at our

supplier factory in order verify their correct functionality. We

recommend that spare part boards (PCB) containing electrolytic

capacitors should be tested every four years.

Parts Fingerprint

The Parts Fingerprint provides you with a complimentary

recommended spare parts list or, if a detailed list of the spare

parts is provided, a list of the recommended parts that are

missing can be prepared. This can be done, for example, as part

of a performance review. We will also keep you informed about

critical aging processes of vital components.

ABB On-site troubleshooting dispatch prioritization

On-site troubleshooting dispatch prioritization

The ABB service hotline team will trigger an internal dispatch alert

and escalation process, immediately upon receiving customer’s

confirmation to dispatch a service engineer to site. The support

line will transfer all information and technical documentation

available for the service to the assigned service engineer.

Annual support usage report (available on demand)

ABB will provide an annual usage report on demand. This will

summarize all support activities provided during the Excitation

Care Program for a period of 12 months.

On-site critical spare parts assessment

The on-site critical spare parts assessment is designed to gather

all necessary information such as software and hardware version,

ABB reference number and quantity of the available spare parts

on-site directly from the customer site. It will then be compiled

in a detailed list by our specialist and provided to the customer

contact person.

ABB Excitation Care Optimizing the performance of your system

Excitation Care provides peace of mind and reassurance to your maintenance team.

They will know who to call in case of emergency, theterms and conditions

of sale will be defined in advance; therefore, your maintenance team will

only focus on getting the best performance from your excitation systems.

Product Life Cycle notification (annual)

ABB will advise where the excitation systems are in the product

life cycle: Active, Classic, Limited or Obsolete. Customers will

receive recommendations depending on the status of the system.

It is a proactive approach to keep customers informed and to help

them plan excitation maintenance services efficiently.

Unlimited phone support

Technical phone support will be provided by the local support

center. During normal business hours (excluding holidays).

Technical support is also available for emergency cases, 24/7/365.

GE OMNI MU360 A Safer and Cybersecure Substation

A Safer and Cybersecure Substation

Transmitting the instrument transformers´ measurements digitally

through optical fibers eliminates the risk of inadvertent mishandling

of the current and voltage circuits and makes the relay room a safer

work environment, eliminating hazards and reducing the risk of

personnel injury.

To ensure MU360 have all this connectivity in a cybersecure way, it

has been designed according to IEC 62443 and have all capabilities

described by SL2 of this standard, including RBAC, secure boot and

signed firmware.

Reduce the Engineering Effort and Cost

The use of Process Bus with the MU360 drastically reduces the

need for trenches, ducts, glands, cable trays and copper hardwiring,

as the information is exchanged among IEDs using fiber optic cables

and ethernet switches.

Fewer cables to manage also means reduced engineering complexity

as extensive wiring schematics are replaced by standardized

version-controlled configuration files. Future reconfigurations are

automatically documented by the IED configuration tool.
