Bently Nevada SCOUT200* series So easy to carry

So easy to carry

Carry the data acquisition module using a shoulder strap or

a belt clip. Sensors mount onto sensor keepers. Hold the

industrial smartphone or tablet in your hand, on a belt clip,

or on a neck strap. So you can focus on your job and move

safely between machines.

Powerful and connected

Vibration recordings are viewed and stored on the handheld

device. It runs the Android OS, so you can use it like any

smartphone or tablet to take pictures and video, send

text messages, check email, make phone calls, track your

location, create SOS alerts, and run other enterprise apps.

Try doing all that on an old school data collector!

High performance data acquisition

Unlike most products on the market, the intrinsically safe

SCOUT devices retain the same high performance and

long battery life as their non-rated COMMTEST brethren.

Ten hours of continuous use, while supporting up to: 80

kHz Fmax, 12.800 line spectral resolution, 6-Pack super fast

measurements, 4 channel simultaneous sampling, optional

tachometer. And the firmware updates automatically from

the handheld. Amazing!

Bently Nevada SCOUT200* series Portable vibration analyzers

Portable vibration analyzers

These portable data collector solutions record the vibration

of industrial machines, to monitor their condition and

diagnose their faults. The Series includes “SCOUT” models

for use in hazardous areas (explosive atmospheres) and

“COMMTEST” models for less stressful environments. There

are 2-channel and 4-channel versions of each, to suit your

data acquisition and analysis needs.

Designed in and for the 21st century

These two-part solutions utilize the power and connectivity

of modern industrial smartphones and tablets, paired with

a small form factor, rugged data acquisition module.

This gives the best of both worlds, a fast handheld device

full of accessories and communication options, and a simple

durable interface to sensors on your machines.

Flexible handheld options

Choose from multiple handheld devices to meet your form

factor, screen size, and hazardous rating needs. Update your

handheld at any time, load the System 1 Collector app onto

the new device and get collecting.

Bently Nevada™ Scout™ SCOUT140EX Vibration Data Collector

Description

The Bently Nevada™ Scout™ SCOUT140EX Vibration Data

Collector, Analyzer and Balancer is a portable hardware

monitoring device that supports four-channel vibration data

collection, analysis, and balancing. Use the device to collect

data from sensors on a route, for machine-side analysis and

diagnosis, and on-site dynamic balance correction.

The SCOUT140EX is ATEX Zone 2 and IECEx Zone 2 compliant

and safe for hazardous areas. It is both light and rugged. The

neck strap includes an integrated Sensor Keeper that restrains

your sensor while you walk or climb to reach other machines.

The device includes a complete suite of advanced recording

and analysis capabilities, includingtri-axial and6Pack

recordings, coast-down, long time waveform, modal analysis

and cross channel spectrum (ODS).

The SCOUT140EX offers plenty of storage and long battery life.

The device comes with a five year warranty. It works with

System 1 software.

Eaton MTL Megablock range of wiring hubs

Crouse-Hinds series MTL Megablock™ is a DIN-rail mounted passive hub

designed for use in FOUNDATION™ fieldbus H1 and Profibus PA networks.

Megablocks minimize hand wiring and allow individual devices to be added

to and removed from the segment without disrupting network communication.

The SpurGuard™ option provides short circuit protection for the segment.

Hazardous area approvals permit installation in a variety of configurations in

Zone 1 or 2 and Division 1 or 2. Within Zone 2 or Division 2. Megablocks may

be installed as part of non-sparking (non-arcing) or energy-limited (non-incendive) circuits.

• F2xx-IS models: Intrinsically Safe Megablocks for Zone 1 applications

• F2xx-XE models: Megablocks for Zone/Div 1 applications

• F300 models: Megablocks for Safe Area and Zone/Div 2 applications

Certifications and compliances

• For a complete listing of certification and approvals across our MTL Megablock range,

download the product datasheets in the resources section of this family page.

Eaton F2xx-XE Megablocks can be mounted vertically

INSTALLATION

Megablocks can be mounted vertically or horizontally using 35

mm DIN rail within a suitable enclosure, such as a field junction

box. Megablocks are removed from the DIN rail using a flat blade

screwdriver to release the mounting platform. Use of DIN rail end

stops is recommended to prevent sliding in vertical installations. The

four, eight, ten and twelve port Megablocks have labeling areas so

that segments can be easily identified according to plant standards.

MTL have a wide range of standard junction box designs for use with

Megablocks. See the data sheet for the range of Process JBs.

Shown above is an example of a common Fieldbus segment topology.

Twelve field devices are connected to a twelve-drop Megablock,

which is mounted in a field junction box. The trunk connector on

the Megablock is wired to the segment trunk cable that leads to the

control room or marshalling panel where the power supply and second

terminator are located. The example shows the

increased safety (Ex em) version connected to a general purpose

fieldbus power supply.

GROUNDING

To prevent ground loops, a fieldbus segment should only be grounded

at one point. This is usually done by grounding the cable shield at the

control room end of the segment. If a permanent segment ground

connection in the field is desired, this can be achieved by wiring

the shield terminal on one of the Megablock trunk connectors to a

suitable earth ground instead of wiring it to the shield terminal on the

Megablock Terminator.

Fieldbus Connection System (FCS) wiring blocks are protected by U.S.

Patents 6.366.437. 6.369.997 and 6.519.125.

Eaton F2xx-XE Megablock Series

SpurGuard™ is a device-port, short circuit protection technique

that minimizes susceptibility to single points of failure. The

Megablocks come with built-in SpurGuard™ protectors that prevent

a short circuit in any of the individual transmitters or spur cable runs

from bringing the entire fieldbus segment down. A red LED near

each spur connection indicates that a spur is shorted and is in “over

current” mode.

For applications using flameproof certified devices, the F2xx-XE

Megablocks are designed to meet the requirements for increased

safety for installation in an Ex e junction box in Zone 1. See the F300

Series Megablock datasheet for applications in safe areas, Zone 2

and Division 2 hazardous areas.

To select the Megablock for your application see the Ordering

Information section of this document.
