• AKM2G is designed to support a wider array of feedback, brake, thermal sensor and shaft

seal options – this greater flexibility means a higher probability of meeting application

requirements with a standard product.

• The AKM2G design has the potential for greater CoEngineering (modification) thanks to the

new housing design.  With a more flexible design for CoEngineering addressing applications

not covered by catalog standards is increased.

The EtherCAT® Bus Coupler connects Real-Time Ethernet systems via modular, expandable electronic terminal blocks.

A complete unit consists of a Bus Coupler, a set of Bus Terminals and a terminal.

The EtherCAT Coupler connects the real-time Ethernet system EtherCAT with modular, expandable electronic terminal blocks.

A unit consists of a Bus Coupler, a set of terminals and a terminal.

The Bus Coupler recognizes the connected Bus Terminals and automatically assigns them to the EtherCAT process image.

The Bus Coupler is connected to the network via the upper Ethernet interface.

The lower RJ 45 socket can be used to connect other EtherCAT devices in the same strand.

In an EtherCAT network, the EtherCAT Coupler can be installed anywhere in the

Ethernet signaling section (100BASE-TX) – except directly on the switch.

EtherCAT (Ethernet Control Automation Technology) is an Ethernet solution for industrial

automation characterized by excellent performance and particularly simple operation.

etherCAT enables Ethernet star topologies to be replaced by simple line structures.

In addition, EtherCAT can also be wired in the “classic” way using switches for the integration of additional Ethernet devices.

The master does not require special plug-in cards and can be realized on any existing Ethernet controller using very simple interfaces.

EtherCAT is therefore also ideally suited for small and medium-sized control applications and will open up new fields of application for distributed I/O.

Kollmorgen AKD2G Servo Drives 2G Motion Control System

Kollmorgen servo drives are designed to provide precise control, optimum torque and a rich feature set to complement our extensive range of rotary servo motors and linear positioning systems. We offer the widest range of connectivity through state-of-the-art control technology, the simplest commissioning and the most compact packages in a global market where precise positioning, speed control or torque efficiency is key.

Our servo drives are typically paired with our extensive line of Kollmorgen servo motors, which provide the most popular feedback support on the market (including resolvers, incremental encoders, BiSS, EnDat, Hiperface, sinusoidal encoders).

Our servo drives have continuous duty power outputs ranging from 300 watts to 50,000 watts. With peak runtimes of a full 5 seconds in some drives, typically 3 times the rated continuous current, many applications can use significantly smaller servo drives and extend the dynamic performance of the servo drive family.

Connectivity is a key aspect of the machine, so we support many popular Ethernet fieldbuses such as EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Profinet and SynqNet, and some models also support traditional fieldbuses including Profibus, Devicenet, CanOpen, RS485, RS232 and Sercos II. Sercos II.
