The FCP280. network adapters and backplane can be installed in G3 rated harsh environments.

Foxboro DCS Field Control Processor FCP280

The FCP280 performs regulation, logic, timing and sequence control, as well as data acquisition, alarm detection and alarm notification.

Acquisition, alarm detection and alarm notification. Process variables are controlled using time-proven algorithms (mathematical calculations that perform specific functions).

These algorithms are contained in functional control blocks that are configured by the field process engineer to implement the desired control strategy.

The versatility of the algorithms, combined with the variety of available FBMs, provides control capabilities suitable for a wide range of process applications.

From simple feedback and cascade loops to highly complex feed-forward, non-linear and complex characteristic control schemes, a variety of control strategies can be easily implemented.

FOXBORO 43AP Pneumatic Indicator Controller

WIDE SELECTION OF MEASURING ELEMENTS

Invensys Foxboro offers the widest variety of element constructions and ranges in the industry. This versatility enables the 43AP Series Pneumatic Indicating Controllers to be applied to virtually any process.

WIDE CHOICE OF CONTROL MODES

On-off, proportional, proportional plus derivative, proportional plus integral (reset), proportional plus integral plus derivative, differential gap, and automatic shutdown actions are available.

BROAD RANGE OF INTEGRAL (RESET) AND DERIVATIVE ADJUSTMENTS

The integral unit has the complete range from 0.01to 50 minutes, and the derivative unit from 0.05 to 50 minutes.

VARIETY OF OPTIONS

These controllers are available with an extensive list of optional features. Among these are internal bumpless automatic-manual transfer stations (two types), “batch” function, remote pneumatic set point, Type 70 electric contacts, and control valve mounting.

ACCURACY UNAFFECTED BY MOUNTING STRESSES

Both the control unit and the measurement element are mounted on a rigid steel plate. Thus, these components are isolated from case stresses due to mounting, and dependable accuracy is ensured.

POWER FAILURES DO NOT INFLUENCE PROCESS-DRIVEN INDICATION

A power failure and the likely subsequent loss of supply pressure do not influence the process-driven indication.

WEATHERPROOF CONSTRUCTION

A glass fiber reinforced case and a gasketed door with a dcs-sis.com shatterproof polycarbonate window meet IEC IP53 and provide the environmental protection of NEMA® Type 3.

VERSATILE MOUNTING

Instruments may be mounted in a panel, on a flat surface, on a INTERNAL BUMPLESS AUTOMATIC-MANUAL TRANSFER STATION

FOXBORO Compact FCM2F2 Fieldbus Communication Module

OVERVIEW

Fieldbus Communication Modules (FCMs) are fibre optic communication extenders that allow 200 Series fieldbus modules to be remotely mounted near plant processes.

FCM2F2 (RH914YZ), FCM2F4 (RH917JA) and FCM2F10 (RH916TQ)

Three models are available with nominal maximum substrate-to-substrate fibre optic cabling distances: up to 2 km (1.24 mi), 4 km (2.48 mi) and 10 km (6.21 mi) respectively.

FCMs are mounted in pairs on standard baseboards for redundancy. Non-redundant configurations require only a single FCM.

Fibre optic cabling is unaffected by electrical noise (EMI, RFI and lightning) and is a versatile and highly reliable means of extending signal communications.

It can be used in areas containing equipment such as rotating machinery, arc welders, etc. It can also be installed in cable bridges containing high voltage power lines, or in outdoor areas exposed to lightning hazards.

FCM Design

The FCM has a rugged extruded aluminium enclosure that provides physical protection for the circuitry.

Enclosures specifically designed for the installation of FBMs and FCMs provide varying degrees of environmental protection for the FCM, up to harsh environments (Class G), in accordance with ISA Standard S71.04.

The FCM can be removed/replaced from the base plate without power failure. six light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the front of the FCM.

Six light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on the front of the FCM are used to indicate the status of network activity with the modular fieldbus and fibre-optic link, as well as the operational status of the FCM.

Figure 1 shows an example of a redundant configuration where the baseboards (containing the FCM) are connected point-to-point via fibre optic cable.

The cabling configuration shows a single fibre optic segment connecting two substrates. However, up to three fibre segments can be used to connect four baseboards (maximum).

The maximum fibre cabling distance between any two base stations is 10 km (using FCM2F10s (RH916TQ)).

The total fibre optic cabling distance (all cable segments) between base stations does not exceed 20 km (10.42 miles).

FOXBORO E69F Field Mount Current Pneumatic Signal Converter

The E69F Field Mount Current Pneumatic Signal Converter accepts a standard DC input signal and converts it to a proportional pneumatic output signal for use with other pneumatic instruments or control valves.

and converts it to a proportional pneumatic output signal for use with other pneumatic instruments or control valves.

As indicated by the “CE” marking on the product, it complies with applicable European Union directives.

Compact and easy to install

The small size and compact design of the E69F converter allows for easy connection to electrical and pneumatic interfaces.

It can be easily mounted on a surface, on a valve yoke or on a vertical pipe with a nominal DN 50 or 2.

Minimal influence on ambient atmospheric conditions

The design of the corona motor in the E69F converter allows a large clearance between the coil and the housing.
