The system can be fitted with control buttons and mode changeover switches mounted separately on the instrumentation door of the switchboard cabinet.

Manual/automatic/parallel switching is achieved by means of a mode switching button.

The system can be switched automatically according to a predefined procedure or switched to manual mode to exit automatic operation.

In the event of planned maintenance or power failure, manual parallel switching of the power supply is also possible to ensure that important loads are not interrupted by the switching process, thus ensuring continuity of the power supply.

Measurement functions

The Emax 2 Ekip Touch is equipped with a measurement module, which automatically collects and measures the status and parameters of the power supply and displays them visually on the circuit breaker’s LCD screen.

Status indication

The Emax 2 Harness system can also be equipped with a status display function to show the operating status of the system to the user, which is convenient for on-site management.

Voltage Status Indication: The line voltage status of power supply 1/power supply 2 can be indicated by the LEDs. If the power supply voltage status is normal, the indicator light will be always on; if the voltage is abnormal (under/over-voltage), the indicator light will not be on.

Circuit breaker status indication: The status of power supply 1/power supply 2 (normal/abnormal) and the status of CB1/CB2/CB3 actuating circuit breakers (bright – closing; non-bright – opening) are visually displayed in the form of a single-line diagram of the system.

ABB Emax 2 Harness Ekip 10K Signalling Module

Ekip 10K Signalling Module

The Ekip 10K signalling module is a DIN rail mounted external signalling unit for Emax 2 circuit breakers.

It is supplied with 10 pairs of contacts and is used to provide electrical signalling for the timing and release of protective arresters.

These contacts can be freely configured with any event or alarm, or a combination of both, if the Ekip Connect software is connected.

Several Ekip 10K signalling modules (up to 3) can be installed in the same Ekip tripper.

The Ekip 10K signalling modules can be supplied with DC or AC power and can be connected to all the release units via the internal bus or via the Ekip Link module.

Ekip Synchronisation Module This module is used to control the synchronisation conditions of two parallel lines.

The Ekip Synchronisation Module measures the output voltage of the two phases of a line via an external transformer and compares it with the voltage measured at the circuit breaker.

An output contact can be used, which is activated when synchronisation is achieved and closes the circuit breaker by wiring to the closing coil.

With the Ekip Com communication module, both Emax 2 circuit breakers can be integrated into an industrial communication network for remote monitoring and control of the circuit breakers.

The module is suitable for all Ekip Touch and Hi-Touch circuit breakers for power distribution and generator protection.

As they are mounted in the terminal box, communication can be maintained via the draw-out circuit breaker even in the swing-out position.

Several Ekip Com modules can be installed at the same time and can therefore be connected to communication systems with different protocols.

Ekip Com modules for Modbus RTU, Profibus-DP and DeviceNet™ contain selectively activated terminating resistors and dip switches.
