Bently Nevada field-proven ADRE† Machine Data Acquisition System

Overview

The field-proven ADRE† Machine Data Acquisition System handles a broad

range of data acquisition tasks, enabling users to spend minimal time reducing

machinery data and more time interpreting it.

This rugged multi-channel machine DAQ combines fast processing power with

ease-of-use for professional machinery diagnosticians. Viewing options in the data

logging system include automatic waveform selection for plots, multiple cursors for

all plot types, and a static/couple vector option on polar plots for balancing.

The Single Board Computer offers faster boot speed, lower power requirements,

SAS disk drive technology, and a reinforced mounting case for better shock resistance.

This highly portable monitoring system is as useful for machine asset condition monitoring

and assessment tasks on the test stand as well as in the field in real-time.

Bently Nevada Machinery shutdown functionality of the 3701/55 ADAPT ESD system

Inputs

Inputs to the system are processed using three CPU modules to provide

triple modular redundancy (TMR). Each CPU processing module processes

two unique speed input channels, for a total of six speed channels for

the system. The processing modules also monitor an array of 32 discrete (DI)

and process variable (PV) signal inputs. Twelve channels of this input signal

array may be configured either as discrete inputs or 4-20 mA analog inputs.

Remaining channels in the array are reserved for discrete input signals only.

Outputs

Machinery shutdown functionality of the 3701/55 ADAPT ESD system is

actuated by TMR relay output modules. Each relay output module has five

relays with a level of configurability that accommodates a variety of applications

and requirements. Four of the five relays in each module are used to annunciate

system logic. The remaining relay reflects the OK/NOTOK status of the associated

protection path. The Bently Nevada Monitor Configuration software provides a

graphical interface to configure relay logic. The state of each relay is determined

by the system inputs and configured system logic in conjunction with thecontrol

state of the relay. Relay control states depend on the application, and may be

set as normally energized/de-energized and independent one-out-of-one, (1oo1),

voting or TMR two-out-of-three, (2oo3), voting. Each CPU module in the system

has two, internally powered, 4-20 mA recorder outputs controlled by the full-scale

speed set by the user through the Monitor Configuration software.

Globally deployed and expertly trained to get the job done

Helping customers achieve plantwide optimization for over 50 years

Our global team of experienced field engineers provides a comprehensive range of machinery

diagnostic services (MDS) for rotating and reciprocating machinery as well as fixed asset types

—regardless of original equipment manufacturer.

From a single engineer in 1972. our MDS capabilities have grown to encompass a team of ~150

dedicated professionals today, many with decades of experience. We have completed more than

18.000 machinery diagnostic projects and the results are maintained in an extensive archive so that

lessons learned on one project benefit other projects where similar machinery problems are encountered.

Our sophisticated IT capabilities allow MDS colleagues from around the world to easily collaborate in real

time using this archive and their collective areas of expertise. This ensures that our extensive knowledge

and broad experience can be brought to bear on each problem, regardless of where the machinery is

located.

Bently Nevada Trendmaster Online Condition Monitoring System

Overview

Trendmaster Pro is an innovative online vibration monitoring system that links hundreds of

permanently mounted transducers and measurement points to a single-cable sensor network.

It then transmits full-waveform & spectrum data to our System 1 software, with its intuitive

interface for tracking, alerting & analyzing your machinery behavior.

This online condition monitoring system is optimized for cost-effective monitoring of machines

of intermediate criticality, i.e. machines that don’t demand immediate shut-down protection,

but for which monthly portables-based monitoring would be insufficient.

A highlight of this system is its suitability for use in the most hazardous environments (i.e. explosive

gases).

A wide range of sensor types are supported, including vibration (Acceleration, Velocity, Displacement),

temperature (RTD & K thermocouple), Pressure, Process Variables (20mA, 5V), Rack Buffered outputs.

Each Transducer Interface Module provides 2 channels of measurement.

Trendmaster Product Features

The Trendmaster Pro online condition monitoring system is ideal for your medium criticality machines:

Dynamic Scanning Modules – Strategically placed throughout your plant, DSMs accept one to

six sensor bus cables to produce a distributed network of condition monitoring sensors.

Frequently polled – Sensors on each bus are polled sequentially every few minutes,

allowing the system to collect data from thousands of connected sensor points.

Low installation and hardware costs – innovative architecture utilizes point-to-point wiring

rather than running all field wiring all the way back to a central location.
