GE PQMII Power Quality Meter™

The GE Multilin PQMII Power Quality Meter is an ideal choice for continuous monitoring of a

single or three-phase system. It provides metering for current, voltage, real power, reactive

power, apparent power, energy use, cost of power, power factor, and frequency.

Programmable setpoints and four assignable output relays allow control functions to be

added for specific applications. This includes basic alarm on over/under current or voltage,

unbalance, demand-based load shedding, and capacitor power factor correction control.

More complex control is possible using the four switch inputs; these can also be used for

status information such as breaker open/closed and flow information.

As a data gathering device for plant automation systems that integrate process,

instrument, and electrical requirements, all monitored values are available via one of two

RS485 communication ports running the Modbus protocol. If analog values are required

for direct interface to a PLC, any of the monitored values can output as a 4 to 20 mA (or 0

to 1 mA) signal to replace up to four (4) separate transducers. A third RS232

communication port connects to a PC from the front panel for simultaneous access of

information by other plant personnel.

DEIF The MVR-F210 feeder protection relay is a modular feeder protection

The MVR-F210 feeder protection relay is a modular feeder protection and control solution,

with non-directional overcurrent and earth fault protections with an automatic recloser.

You can add up to 4 I/O or communication modules for more comprehensive monitoring

and control applications. The MVR-F210 feeder protection device communicates using

various protocols, including the IEC 61850.

Applications

A wiring example and key ANSI functions are shown below.

Programmable stage (PSx>/<; 99)

The programmable stage is a stage that the user can program to create more advanced

applications, either as an individual stage or together with programmable logic.

The device has ten programmable stages, and each can be set to follow one to three

analog measurements. The programmable stages have three available pick up terms options:

overX, underX and rate of-change of the selected signal. Each stage includes a definite

time delay to trip after a pick-up has been triggered.

The programmable stage cycle time is 5 ms. The pick-up delay depends on which analog

signal is used as well as its refresh rate (typically under a cycle in a 50 Hz system).

DEIF MVR-F210 Feeder Protection

The MVR-F210 feeder protection relay is used for applications requiring non-directional

overcurrent protection with automatic recloser. The device supports IEC 61850 communication.

Additional I/O and communicaton cards can be added by using the 4 extension slots.

DEIF PPM 300 Highly customisable architecture

Highly customisable architecture

All PPM 300 variants can be specified with 4 or 7 I/O module slots. The modules provide

voltage and current measurement, I/O, engine control, governor and AVR functions,

and communication. Three modules are mandatory, but you can use the remaining 1

or 4 slots to customise the controller by adding modules or leave them empty.

In addition, you can add up to 9 expansion racks to a single PPM 300 to get up to 58

free module slots (up to 4 in the base rack and up to 6 in each expansion rack).

Unique ANSI 87G differential protection

With the optional ACM3.2 module, you can add ANSI 87G differential protection for generators.

The module measures phase currents on the consumer and neutral sides of a generator in order

to detect phase-to-phase faults or phase-to-earth faults in earthed generator systems.

With this unique feature, you can design reliable and safe power systems without external

differential protection devices.

DEIF PPM 300 Shaft generator controller

Customisable shaft generator controller designed for efficient power management

The PPM 300 Shaft generator controller controls and protects the system

when a shaft generator is connected, and it controls and protects the shaft generator breaker.

When a shaft generator is connected, it is normally the ship’s only power source,

but it can run in parallel with the gensets and supply a base load for an extended period

(long-time parallel). In such cases, the PPM 300 Shaft generator controller works with

the PPM 300 Genset controllers to ensure efficient power management.

A DEIF power management system can include as many Shaft generator controllers as necessary.

Part of the versatile PPM 300 range

The PPM 300 Shaft generator controller is part of the DEIF PPM 300 range of versatile

controllers with built-in multi-master power management features.

The range offers variants designed for a wide range of marine and offshore applications

–from generator control and protection to engineered power management solutions

developed for generators, battery energy storage, shore connections, and bus tie breakers.

For general information about the PPM 300 range, see the PPM 300 main page.
