The IS220PDIOH1A is a discrete input/output module manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe series used in distributed control systems. The electrical link between one or two I/O Ethernet networks and the discrete input/output terminal block is provided by the Discrete Input/Output (PDIO) package. The kit includes a capture board dedicated to discrete input/output functions and a processor board shared by all Mark VIe distributed I/O packages. The pack can accept up to 24 contact inputs, manage up to 12 relay outputs, and obtain terminal board-specific feedback signals.
Functional Description
The voltage capability of the PDIO is determined by the connected terminal board. The three-pin power input and the two RJ45 Ethernet connectors are used as system inputs to the battery pack. the DC-62 connector connects directly to the corresponding terminal board connector for discrete signal inputs and outputs. the LEDs are used to display visual diagnostic information.
Functionally, the PDIO is equivalent to combining the PDIA and PDOA I/O packages into a single unit. It is mounted on the TDBS terminal block for simplex applications, which is a hybrid of the SRLY relay terminal block and the STCI contact input terminal block.
It is mounted on the TDBT terminal block used for TMR applications, and when used in conjunction with the WROB option, provides the ability to combine the terminal block with a TBCI contact input terminal block. The following diagram shows the connections established when three PDIO packages are installed on a TDBT terminal board.
