FOXBORO E69F Field Mount Current Pneumatic Signal Converter

The E69F Field Mount Current Pneumatic Signal Converter accepts a standard DC input signal and converts it to a proportional pneumatic output signal for use with other pneumatic instruments or control valves.

and converts it to a proportional pneumatic output signal for use with other pneumatic instruments or control valves.

As indicated by the “CE” marking on the product, it complies with applicable European Union directives.

Compact and easy to install

The small size and compact design of the E69F converter allows for easy connection to electrical and pneumatic interfaces.

It can be easily mounted on a surface, on a valve yoke or on a vertical pipe with a nominal DN 50 or 2.

Minimal influence on ambient atmospheric conditions

The design of the corona motor in the E69F converter allows a large clearance between the coil and the housing.

Normal atmospheric variations may cause corrosion and dust particles, but will not impede the operation of the mechanism as would be the case with voice coil type instruments.

Wide range of applications

Selectable input and output signals, different input ranges, and direct or reverse action make this converter easily adaptable to a wide variety of applications.

The choice of output signals makes the converter particularly suitable for valve applications.

FOXBORO Compact FBM215 HART® Communication Output Interface Module

OVERVIEW

The Compact HART Communication Output Interface Module (FBM215) contains eight channels of isolated output channels.

The Compact FBM215 supports any combination of standard 4 to 20 mA devices and HART devices, and is part of the Compact 200 Series I/O Subsystem, as described in the Compact 200 Series I/O Subsystem Overview.

The Compact FBM215 serves as a host for HART-communicating field devices, allowing the Foxboro Evo system to request and receive two digital telegrams per second from each field device.

The Telegram Pass-Through feature can be used to support HART generic, common, and device-specific commands, but does not support burst communication modes.

These commands are implemented through the Intelligent Field Device Configurator (IFDC – see Intelligent Field Device Configurator FoxCom for details) and the HART protocol.

The compact FBM215 provides an isolated power supply for each channel.

When connected to the appropriate TA, the Compact FBM215 provides the functionality previously provided by the 100 Series FBM I/O subsystem.

TAs support the functional HART devices of the 100 Series FBM37 when the FBM37 is used with the following devices

Compact Design

The compact FBM215 has a narrower design than the standard 200 series FBM.

It has a rugged acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) housing that provides physical protection for the circuitry.

Enclosures specifically designed for mounting the FBM provide varying degrees of environmental protection up to the harsh environments specified in ISA Standard S71.04.

Visual Indicators

Light emitting diodes (LEDs) on the front of the module provide a visual indication of the module’s operational status and channel communication activity.

Easy Removal/Replacement

Modules are mounted on a Compact 200 Series base plate that can be mounted either on DIN rails or horizontally in a rack using a kit.

Includes signal connectors for redundant fieldbus, redundant independent DC power supply and termination cables.

Two screws on the FBM secure the module to the Compact 200 Series base plate.

Removing/replacing the module eliminates the need to remove field device termination cables, power supplies, or communication cables.

Features

The key features of the Compact FBM215 module are listed below:

 Eight isolated output channels, each providing one of the following outputs:

– Standard 4 to 20 mA analog output signals

– Digital HART Frequency Shift Keying (FSK)

Digital HART Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) signals are superimposed on the 4 to 20 mA analog output signals.

 FSK modem dedicated to each output channel for bi-directional digital communication with HART field devices

 Galvanic isolation of all output channels from each other and from ground and module logic

 Supports HART common commands required to interface field devices with the Foxboro Evo™ Control Core Service System.

Database

 Compact, ruggedized enclosure for Class G3 (harsh) environments

 Termination assembly (TA) for local or remote connection of field wiring to the compact FBM215.

FOXBORO 130M Series Pnuematic Controller

The 130M Series Pnuematic controllers offer manual setpoint adjustment and are the standard controller in the Foxboro® 130 Series.

All Foxboro® 130 Series controllers are designed for high-density control room installations.

These devices are ideally suited for applications where precise control is critical to skilled process management.

The 130M Series is essentially the same as dcs-sis.com the 130P and 130F Series with the exception of the following features:

130P Series: Has setpoints that are pneumatically modified by remote signals.

130F Series: Remote/local switching to support manual or pneumatic modification of setpoints.

Designed for high-density control room installations, these controllers are suitable for any situation where precise control is required for efficient process management.

The basic controller is the 130M series with manual setpoint adjustment. 130P series is similar to the 130M, but the setpoint can be adjusted pneumatically via a remote signal.

The 130F series is similar to the 130M but includes a remote/local switch for manual or pneumatic setpoint adjustment.

Large Eye-Catching Display

The visibility and legibility of the large, brightly colored pointer located directly behind the clear vertical scale has become the benchmark against which other display concepts are judged.

The system provides a continuous full-scale display of all variables, an effective indication of controller deviations, and easy scale changes without tools.

Separate automatic and manual control units

Both the automatic and manual control units can be disassembled without disrupting the process.

This design feature avoids costly downtime for servicing the controller.

Completely Unbalanced and Bufferless Transmission

The 130 Series controllers utilize the “integral balancing” method for bufferless transfer. After transfer, the controller simply responds at the integral (reset) rate that

This eliminates any error between setpoint and measurement. In addition to providing easy, unbalanced and unbuffered transmission, this solution preserves the setpoint.

Simple and cost-effective installation

Up to 10 instruments can be accommodated in a multi-unit rack. All air connections are made when the controller is installed in the rack.

Piping costs are minimized as each rack has its own integrated air supply header and individual air shutoff valve.

Easy Maintenance

The 130 Series utilizes a unique pneumatic circuit board that greatly enhances the sophistication of the pneumatic control system. This board eliminates many of the piping and connections found in other controllers.

All components are located on one side of the board and are easily accessible by sliding back the cover on one side.

Force Balance Control Module

The proven force balance control module ensures long service life and reliability. Due to the use of metal bellows, there is virtually no movement in the flexure suspension mechanism, thus providing the user with a clearly superior controller.

Specialized Controllers for Every Application

Foxboro offers the industry’s widest range of optional accessories and specialized control features. In addition to normal control modes, these include single-station ratios, single-station computer setups, auto selectors, differential gaps, and “batch” processing.

Foxboro FBM204 Interface Module

OVERVIEW

The FBM204.0 to 20 mA Input/Output consists of four 20 mA dc analog input channels and four 20 mA dc analog output channels.

Each input channel accepts an analog sensor input or a self-powered 20 mA supply.

Each output channel drives an external load to produce a 0 to 20 mA output.

The inputs/outputs are electrically isolated from other inputs/outputs on channel and ground.

The FBM204 performs the signal conversion required for electrical input interfaces/output signals from field sensors to an optional redundant fieldbus.

The FBM204 performs analog I/O applications that provide configurable options for the following functions: conversion time,

Fail Safe Configuration (Hold/Return) and Analog Output Fail Safe Return Data (on a per channel basis).

The Fieldbus Module (FBM) can alternatively perform the fast control loops in which Distributed PIDA (DPIDA) applications provide operation.

The FBM204 is electrically compatible with standard HART signals.
