ABB Robobell 625 Unique Atomizer Technology

The Atomizer for Today’s Robotics Application

The Robobell Internal Charge is a high efficiency rotary

atomizer designed for today’s robotic production.  Its in

tended application is coating complex surfaces with sol

vent borne paint.  Its range of application goes from exte

rior car body to complex car bumper painting. This is an

internal charge atomizer; the high voltage charge is applied

to the paint on the bell cup before atomization.

Compact and Light Design

This atomizer was specifically designed to work with a ro

bot. At only 5.1 kilograms (11 pounds) it can be fitted to

practically any robot. The atomizer body diameter is 85

mm (3.375 inches). The atomizer head has a 60 degrees

bend.  The very slim and compact shape of the atomizer

allows easy access in hard to paint areas, such as door jams

or engine compartment.

ABB Ability™ System 800xA® hardware selector AI810

The AI810 Analog Input Module has 8 channels. Each channel can be

either a voltage or current input. The current input is able to handle a

short circuit to the transmitter supply at least 30 V d.c without

damage. Current limiting is performed with a PTC resistor. The input

resistance of the current input is 250 ohm, PTC included.

The voltage input is able to withstand an over or undervoltage of at

least 30 V d.c. Input resistance is 290k ohm. Transmitter supply can

be connected to L1+, L1- and/or L2+, L2-.

AI835A ABB System 800xA hardware selector

Features and benefits

• 8 differential input channels for thermocouple/mV.

• Channel 8 can be designated as the CJ-channel (4-wire Pt100 RTD)

• Variety of thermocouples with the folowing characteristics: B, C, E, J, K, N, R, S and T for AI835A also D,

L and U

• 15 Bit resolution (A/D)

• Inputs are monitored for wire-break open-circuit

The AI835/AI835A provides 8 differential input channels for

Thermocouple/mV measurements. Measurement ranges configurable

per channel are: -30 mV to +75 mV linear, or TC Types B, C, E, J, K, N, R,

S and T, for AI835A also D, L and U.

One of the channels (Channel 8) may be configured for “Cold

Junction” (ambient) temperature measurements, thus serving as CJ

channel for Ch. 1 .7. The junction temperature may be measured

loca ly on the MTUs screw terminals, or on a connection unit distant

form the device.

Alternatively, a fix junction temperature for the module may be set by

the user (as parameter) or for AI835A also from the application.

Channel 8 may be used in the same manner as Ch. 1 .7 when no CJ

temperature measurement is needed.

AI845 ABB Ability™ System 800xA® hardware selector

Features and benefits

• 8 channels for 0 .20 mA, 4 .20 mA, 0 .5 V or 1 .5 V d.c., single ended unipolar inputs

• Single or redundant operation

• 1 group of 8 channels isolated from ground

• 12 Bit resolution

• Current limited transmitter supply per channel

• Advanced on-board diagnostics

• HART pass-through communication

The AI845 Analog Input Module for single or redundant applications.

The module has 8 channels. Each channel can be either a voltage or

current input when MTU TU844 or TU845 is used, when other MTUs

are used al channels become voltage or current inputs.

The voltage and current input is able to withstand an overvoltage or

undervoltage of at least 11 V d.c. The input resistance for voltage

input is greater than 10 M ohm and the input resistance for current

input is 250 ohm.

The module distributes the external HART compatible transmitter

supply to each channel. This adds a simple connection to distribute

the supply to 2-wire or 3-wire transmitters. The transmitter power is

supervised and current limited.

ABB industrial drives ACS2000, 300 to 3000 HP, 4kV

Technical specifications

Customer supplied MV MCB (breaker or vacuum contactor) (standard)

The ACS2000 needs to have direct and exclusive control over

the MV Switchgear. The close, open and / or trip command

must be wired directly from the frequency converter to the MV

Switchgear. It is not permitted to wire the trip command

through any PLC or DCS system if it is not certified to meet SIL

3 level requirements.

The MV MCB (breaker or vacuum contactor) needs to be

equipped with the following features: −−

 • 1 normally open and 1 normally closed contact to provide

status feedback to the drive

See publication MV Switchgear – document number

2UEB000095 for technical specifications

Integral MV fused disconnect / vacuum contactor package (optional)

ABB can also offer a fused disconnect / contactor option for a

flexible, self contained solution where no control coordination

is required upstream. It provides a visible blade switch

disconnect and integral input contactor with options such as

motor protection relay, auxiliary power transformer and other

customer controls.

ABB ACS2000 DFE MEDIUM VOLTAGE DRIVES

Target groups and required qualifications

The drive presented in this manual is part of an

industrial environment where voltages are present

that contain a potential hazard of electric shock

and / or burn. For this reason, only personnel who

have a thorough knowledge of the drive and the

industrial environment and have obtained the

required qualification must handle, install, operate,

or maintain the drive.

The manual addresses personnel who are responsi

ble for unpacking, transportation, installation,

operation and maintenance of the drive. The per

sonnel must carry out the below listed tasks in a

manner that does not cause physical harm or dan

ger, and that ensures the safe and reliable func

tioning of the drive.

Commissioning of the drive must

only be performed by qualified

and certified ABB personnel.

The moduleis held in place with plastic retaining clips, a locking tab and one screw.

The screw also provides the earthing of the cable shields connected to the module

and interconnects the GND signals of the module and the drive.

Oninstallation of the module, the signal and power connection to the drive is

automatically made through a 20-pin connector.

Numbersinbrackets refer to the layout drawing in section layout.

Mounting procedure:

1. Pull out the locking tab(7)

2. Insert the modulecarefully into the option slot until the retaining clips lock the
